Day 6: July 17

今朝は学校がなかったため、いつもより遅く、10時に起きました。それから、朝ごはんはホストファミリー全員と食べ、ショッピングに出かけました。
ショッピングは、同じ学校に行っている、ちえ・ありさ・にいな・マデリン・ケリアナそして、私とそれぞれのホストバディーと一緒に行きました。今回行ったところは、ミュンヘン周辺にある大きなモールに行きました。モールにはたくさんのお店が入っていて、日本でいうとアウトレットのようなモールでした。私は、ありさとちえと3人でモールを回りました。今値段のレートが下がっているせいか、物価はとても安く、みんな沢山お土産や自分のお土産を買っていました。お昼はそれぞれでモール内にあるお店ですませ、私達は、オリンピック公園にいきました。
　オリンピック公園では、沢山のオブジェがあり、駅からそこへ向かうとき、大きな会館みたいなものが見えました。そこでは、今もいろいろな競技などに使われており、私たちが行ったときも何かやっていました。（見たかったのですが、ガードマンがいて見れませんでした。）そこを過ぎて、公園の奥にいくと、大きな市場みたいなものがあり、私達はそこへ行きました。そこは、沢山のお店があり、いわゆるフリーマーケットのようなものでした。私はありさとちえとありさのバディーと4人で回りました。そこのお店もまたとても安くお土産や自分のものを又沢山買いました。
　その後、雨が降ってきたため、私たちは早めに出てそれぞれの家に帰りました。家に着くと、私は日本から持ってきたカレーを作りました。味は家で作るより美味しく感じたせいか、私のホストファミリーにも好評で、ホストシスターは普段人参を食べないのに、私が作ったカレーに入ってあった人参はしっかり食べていて、とてもうれしかったです。食事のあとは家族で沢山話しました。私のバディー、オリバーは以前日本にきたことがあり、とても日本語が上手でした。だから言葉は沢山知っていました。しかしたまに間違っているものあったので、それを訂正してあげたり、大阪弁を教えてあげたりしました。
　今回私はこのホストファミリーの家に行ってよかったと実感した日でした。なぜなら、いつも私のことを気遣ってくれたり、考えてくれたり又、家族全員が私を受け入れてくれたからです。カレーを作っているとき、オリバーが沢山のことを話してくれました。それは、家族のこと・日本のこと・ドイツのこと・そして私の夢のことです。彼が話している時、家族全員が話を真剣に聞いていました。又私の事を沢山知ってくれました。そして、応援してくれました。私は、その時ドイツに来てよかったなと思いました。しかし、もっと英語をしゃべりたいと思いました。彼は私としゃべるとき、英語をしゃべってくれましたが、聞き取るのに精一杯だったため、なかなか会話はつながりませんでした。だから、今度会う時までに、英語をもっとしゃべれるようになって、そしてドイツ語もしゃべれるようになりたいと思います。

On Saturday I woke up at 9:30am to the sound of scratching on my door. I was rather confused and so I opened the door to see Pippen, my home stay Sophie’s dog. He jumped on to my bed and kept me company until I finally could be bothered to get out of bed. For breakfast Sophie’s Mum made some herbal tea that went down fantastically with the delicious homemade strawberry and rhubarb jam with cream cheese on fresh warm German bread.
The day before, Sophie and I had planned to meet up with the other people for a shopping trip in Munich, so we got changed quickly and were dropped at Grafing Bahnhof station to catch the train. Since everyone had different tastes, we all split up into groups. I went with an English exchange student from the Gymnasium Grafing called Niall. Him and I went to many different shops and bought lots of clothes. The best part was buying fruit smoothies because they were absolutely amazing!
Afterwards we met up again and went on the train to Olympia Park. This was the venue for the Munich Olympic Games and we walked for about 15 minutes through it all which was quite interesting. Soon enough we arrived at a German festival called Tollwood. It was alive with music, people, stalls, food and entertainment. We were able to buy some chocolate and caramel fudge, as well as a Rostbratworst, which were both delicious. Rostbratworst are famous German sausages and you can buy them up to a meter long! I loved seeing all the creative and individual stalls that made up the festival, however just observing all the different kinds of people and fashions was also a great experience.
It started looking as though it would rain so we headed back home to Grafing. At home, Sophie and I had dinner and then wondered whether we should do something fun, since it was my last night with her. Despite the pouring rain, we decided to hang out with some of her friends from Gymnasium Grafing. Her friends called Heiner and Jonas came and picked us up in Heiner’s huge BMW and we went to a different area called Ebersberg. We went to the birthday party of twin boys from Sophie’s school where there were many people that I had already met in Grafing, so it was nice to see them again. We stayed for a while but then felt like having a more relaxed time, so we drove to Heiner’s house. We put on some chill music and started playing a game called ‘Who Am I.’ This was a lot of fun and we had some good laughs.
Overall my last night in Grafing was really great and I was so sad when Heiner and Jonas drove us home because they all seem like such lovely people and I didn’t want to say goodbye.
