Day 4: July 15

これは、NinaとChieとShiaによる4日目の報告です。
This is the report of the 4th day by Nina, Chie, and Shia.


今日は一限目にギムナジウムで授業を30分受けてその後8年生にSOISや日本の事についてプレゼンテーションをしました。クイズで正解した人は日本のお菓子をたくさん貰って、私達もブレークのお菓子をもらいました。その後日本大使館の大使の方の挨拶があり、井藤先生がSOISのプレゼンテーションをし、ギムナジウムの方の音楽演奏がありました。軽快で温かい演奏に私達は癒されました。それが終わると日本語を選択している生徒達による「桃太郎」の劇がありました。なぜか大阪弁でとても面白かったです。
Today was the first full day I spent with my home stay, and after math for first period, we did our presentation about OIS school life along with quizzes that the 8th graders of Grafing participated in. We were welcomed by an opening song, a few words from the respective heads of school, and then watched a very entertaining shortened version of “Momotaro” the play by students taking Japanese in Grafing.

お昼以降/After Noon
　桃太郎が終わるとNinaと私と二人のバディで乗馬をしに行きました。馬が太すぎて最初の鞍が入らなく、代わりの鞍で乗りました。そのため足掛けがなくバディにつながれていきました。馬が沢山いて、とても楽しかったです。乗馬が終わると私達はNinaのバディの家族とレストランに行きました。やはりご飯の量が多くお腹いっぱいになりました。

After a very short day at school, me and my home stay Elli had pizza with her mom at a nice Italian restaurant, and went home and relaxed for a while. I discovered Elli has a great interest in J-rock and manga, so she told me her favorite bands and showed me some of the manga she drew, which I was surprised to see she was really talented.
Around 4 or 5 o’clock, Elli, Chie, her home stay Rebekka and I went horseback riding. Rebekka owned her own horse, so we had a long walk through a beautiful trail in the woods for about an hour. We then had dinner with Elli’s family and I tried some traditional Bavarian dishes, which was very delicious. All in all we had a nice relaxing sort of day, and I was delighted to have been able to ride and spend time with her horse.

Grafingの学校に行った後、ホームステーのエリザベスともう一人の友達と家でお昼ご飯を食べました。庭でのんびり食べられてよかったです。午後は授業がひとつしかなく、英語のプロジェクトクラスに参加しました。Pride and Prejudiceについて１２ページのエッセイを書くための授業であり、みんなよく英語でがんばるなあと感心しました。昼はMarienplatzに買い物に行き、ヌテラとホワイトチョコの美味しいアイスをホストファミリーに買ってもらいました。夕方は、フォルクフェストというフェスティバルに行きました。バイエルの伝統的な食べ物が売ってあり、また伝統的な服をみんな着ていました。昔ながらの曲に合わせてみんな踊り、楽しかったです。
My home stay, Elisabeth and I went back to her house after Grafing to eat lunch at her house with one of her friends. We ate outside and it was nice and relaxing. The mum’s cooking was very nice. We then went to projects class where they were writing an essay about Pride and Prejudice. It was all in English and they were all working to write a 12 page essay. I think it is amazing that they can write such a long essay in English even though there first language is German.
In the evening with Elisabeth and her friends we all went to folksfest. This was a festival with traditional Bavarian food and people wore the traditional clothes as well. We all danced to traditional folk songs. It was fun!!
